CNC back gages are commonly used with shearing machines to control thelength of the plate being sheared. CNC lasers and CNC plasma cutters are alsoused to bring plates to their final shapes. CNC is even used in the manufacturing of many electrical components.

CNC operators are commonly required to do other thingsrelated to the CNC operation like measuring workpieces and making adjustmentsto keep the CNC machine running good workpieces. In fact CNC operators tend to get quite bored duringlengthy production runs because there is so little to do.
